                                                     Introduction

Welcome to the Bible Tips For Happiness Self-help Support Group Program. It is our hope that this workbook and its accompanying support group will help you experience improved happiness by incorporating the time-tested principles of the Bible into your everyday life.

It is important to note that in the fast-paced life of the 21st century, God’s Word is just as powerful in helping people live above anxiety and depression today, as it was when it was first written. When Jesus said in Matthew 11:30, “My yoke is easy, my burden is light”, he was telling us that even we can experience a sense of ease in our daily walk with God. Indeed, when we take time to use God’s Word, it reshapes our thinking, and transforms us into happy, peaceful people.

Support Group Meetings
The support group meeting format embraces a multi-person participation approach. This is to give many people an opportunity to assist in the preparation and delivery of the truths taught in the program. This serves also to improve the self-esteem of the participants, which is an important asset for people who struggle with a mood disorder.

In addition to putting an emphasis on strong biblical theology, this program promotes the importance of confidentiality. The ultimate goal of the program is for each person to, one day, tell their story of full recovery, but until then, we strive to create an environment that is safe and respectful for its members.

Another emphasis of the Bible Tips program is to lead people to a personal relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible implores us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We share how Jesus paid the penalty for our sin by being crucified on the cross. Because of this, we give our lives to God and ask him to live through us. We believe a decision to follow Jesus is a definite asset in receiving healing for emotional wounds.

Post-Meeting Support
We believe it is important that each member of our support groups has access to daily telephone support during the week. This is a large task. Thus, we are always looking for new people to join us in providing support. It is a great way to enrich both your life the lives of those you help.

We hope that after you have read this workbook, you will want to have a part in what we are seeking to do. Whether you are someone who is pursuing recovery or someone who would like to help others find recovery, we extend a warm welcome to you.

Enjoy the read. And, let us know what you think. We value your comments. We look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.

Note: The Bible Tips for Happiness Support Group Program is a support tool. It is not intended to take the place of professional counselling.
