Day 1
Dear Friend, It is with great anticipation that we are introducing to
you the Peace Plus Program. It doesn't matter how bad your symptoms
of anxiety or depression are, they can all be resolved when you
begin responding to your life's challenges in the proper way.
However, we know that as you aim yourself at resolving past
conflicts in your life, that 'life' is going to present road blocks
in your path to prevent you from helping yourself get well. That is
why we ask to speak with you everyday so that we can help you
recognize when these road blocks are coming into play, and then help
you to maneuver around them so that you can maintain a steady
working of the program each day. If you let it, this program will
change your life forever. And when your life has changed, others
around you will want their lives changed, and that is why we are so
excited to have you journey with us toward peace and happiness. We
want everybody who has ever struggled with their emotions to be
liberated so they can truly know the joy of living. With that in
mind let us begin today, and purpose to keep working the program
every day until you have absolute perfect peace. Blessings to you on this
monumental day!
Getting The Necessary Tools
Meeting Pamphlet
Dear friend, Day 1 is a day that we equip ourselves for the
journey ahead. Let's start with printing a copy of our meeting
pamphlet. Here is the link to our Meeting Pamphlet. To print a copy
of our meeting pamphlet, click on
Inside and
Outside, and print them
onto the front and backside of a sheet of Legal size paper (8
1/2"x14").
Handy Scripture Cards
Other tools to assist you in your recovery are the scripture cards.
Here is the link to the scripture cards:
scripturecards . If you are having a problem keeping your
mind on positive thoughts, these cards are an excellent tool to use. Begin
to memorize these verses one by one and start saying them over and
over throughout your day. This technique prevents negative thoughts
from coming to your mind.
Accountability Sheet
May we also suggest you keep track of your progress using the
Accountability Sheet. Here is the link to it:
accountabilitysheet
Daily Journal
Another helpful tool to keep a daily journal to list all of the
victories you score in your day-to-day life. After a week go back
and praise God for all the good things you were able to accomplish.
Then on Monday, do it all over again! So obtain a journal.
Daily Bible Reading
Realize that
God does not usually respond to begging, but that you get his full
attention when you look to Him in faith. Thus, let us work on your faith.
May we suggest you begin a new daily habit of reading God's Word. We
recommend you begin a habit of meeting with God every day at the
same time for 30 minutes or more. And that you read a Bible (an easy
to understand version, the NIV (New International Version), or the
New King James Version is good. It is best to read a balanced
portion of God's Word, such as: Read a chapter in Proverbs (There
are 31 chapters in Proverbs, one for each day of the month). Read a
chapter in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John and include the
Book of Acts), and read a chapter in the New Testament Epistles from
Romans onward. If you have time read a chapter in the Old Testament
as well, beginning in Genesis. However, feel free to read only what
we post for each day. It is your
choice.
Friendships
Another
factor in obtaining a speedy recovery is the area of friendships.
Quite often depression is caused by a lack of meaningful
relationships in our lives. Not only can a lack of friendships cause
depression but a lack of trustworthy mentors in our lives can cause
us to stumble needlessly in life. Mentors are people who we believe
are strong in their own identity, wise in the area of life's
challenges and caring in their willingness to sit and listen to you
explain your problems. May we suggest you find 2 or 3 people who can
mentor you when life gets difficult. The Bible says that "in a multitude of counselors there is safety."* A good place to find new
friends and mentors is in a good local church. If you wish, you
can
contact us and we will find a good local church.
Final Note
The reason we
have you do the homework is to change your belief's. Our problem is
not 'negative thinking', our problem is 'negative believing'. It is
our belief's that steer our thoughts. If we can change what we
believe, we will change what generates our thoughts. With this in mind,
make a decision to be diligent in doing your homework every day. The more you do the homework, the sooner you
will peace of mind. Best wishes as you begin!
Once you've gathered
your 'tools', send us an
email, and we can proceed to Day 2.
